Q. How do I choose the right therapist?
A. Each therapist has different areas of expertise and different approaches to therapy. It is important that you find the therapist that is a good fit for you and meets your needs. I have many years of experience in working with adults, teenagers and families and have a strength based and client centered approach. I have expertise in issues of depression, anxiety, blended family issues, self-harm, chronic mental health conditions and substance abuse. Please call me for a free 15 minute consultation.
Q. How long is each session?
A. Sessions are 50 minutes long which works well for most clients, but longer sessions are available upon request. Longer sessions can be helpful for families, especially at the beginning of treatment.
Q. How long does treatment last?
A. Treatment length depends greatly on the individual as each client will have a pretty good idea of what kind of changes they want to see and together we can estimate the length of time needed. That being said, most clients will be in treatment from a few months to about a year, depending on the issues at hand.
Q. Is what we talk about private?
A. Nearly everything we talk about in therapy will be private. It is both a legal and ethical requirement that all psychotherapists must follow and necessary for progress. However, there are exceptions related to the safety and to the protections of elders and minors and to legal matters, such as court orders.
Q. What is your fee?
A. My fee is 140 dollars for each session. If you are unable to afford my full fee, please discuss it with me as I may be able to offer a reduced fee under certain circumstances.
Q. Do you accept insurance?
A. Yes, I accept Beacon Health Options.
